Returning board member Cory Peterson, now serving as President, calls ITGA his “professional home,” a connection point with peers around the country to share best practices around town-gown issues. As the Assistant Vice President of Community and Government Relations at American University in Washington, D.C., Coryspearheads AU’s engagement with its neighbors, the broader DC community, and the DC government, leads Campus Planning and helps lead AU’s initiative on working with the Washington, DC region as part of the Changemakers for a Changing World strategic plan. Prior to his position at AU, Cory worked at Georgetown University as the inaugural Director in the Office of Neighborhood Life supporting students and community members in the adjacent neighborhoods and assisted in implementing the University’s campus plan.
