With a master's degree in landscape architecture and urban design from Harvard, Krisan Osterby consults across the United States — "in both very urban and very rural settings" — on integrated institutional planning for land, buildings, open space, and infrastructure. As campus planning leader and a principal at DLR Group, Osterby brings a "collaborative, data-driven approach" to planning for community and liberal arts colleges, HBCUs, and state, private, and land-grant universities.

Given "a growing societal understanding of bias," she aims to bring new voices to ITGA and identify ways that town-gown relationships can create and support "a healing environment and placemaking for all." The organization has "the potential to integrate common concerns, celebrate shared achievement, and support human, environmental and financial resilience between host communities and their anchor institutions."
