Seaside City Manager Elected President of International Town & Gown Association

Kent, Ohio - The International Town & Gown Association (ITGA) is pleased to announce the election of Greg McDanel, City Manager of Seaside, California, as its new President. The transition was formalized at the 2025 ITGA Annual Conference, held June 4–6 in Kent, Ohio. McDanel will serve a two-year term through 2027, following the Board’s decision to extend presidential terms to enhance continuity and long-term impact.

The International Town & Gown Association (ITGA) held its annual awards ceremony on June 4, 2025, in Kent, Ohio, celebrating the outstanding contributions of individuals, volunteers, and organizations that have made a significant impact on town-gown relations. The business luncheon, attended by nearly 300 attendees, provided a warm and celebratory atmosphere that highlighted ITGA’s mission and honored the powerful contributions of its award recipients.

Join our team for the upcoming International Town & Gown Association, commonly referred to as ITGA, Conference in College Park, Maryland. Principal and Campus Planning Leader Krisan Osterby will present a session titled “Lessons in Housing Access: ITGA/NLC Survey Results.” The ITGA/National League of Cities, commonly referred to as NLC, housing access survey was distributed internationally to institutional leaders and local officials to gain insights on addressing foundational issues that hinder campus, community, and constituent well-being.

Clemson, S.C. - The annual conference of the International Town & Gown Association (ITGA), hosted by the University of Maryland and the City of College Park, June 5-7, drew the largest attendance with almost 400 attendees from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
