Alexander "AJ" Wray, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Community Health Education at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. He is also the Past President of the Town and Gown Association of Ontario, the de-facto Canadian town-gown organization. He holds a Doctorate in Geography and Environment, and Master of Arts in Geography from Western University, and an undergraduate in urban planning and environmental assessment from the University of Waterloo. His research sits at the intersections of healthy communities, geographic information science, and local government policy. He is known in the town and gown space for his work on postsecondary student housing policy in Canada, as published in Housing Policy Debate and Perspectives in Public Health. He is also on the founding Editorial Board of Urban Transitions, a multidisciplinary international peer-reviewed journal focused on the intersections between health, sustainability, transportation, and planning.
